Rainwater will be conserved on the hill using the Halma tradition of Jhabua, schools and organizations will be involved in the construction of ponds.
There is now a plan to conserve rainwater on Shankargarh Hill in Dewas using the ancient tribal tradition of Halma. The Green Army is now planning in this direction. By contacting schools in the city and surrounding areas, social workers, and religious organizations, and engaging them, ponds and pits will be constructed on the hill using the Halma tradition. Samarjeet Jadhav of the Green Army stated that they will contact schools regarding the tradition. They will create ponds on the hill using ponds and pits to conserve rainwater. Through collective labor, we can accomplish more. Along with planting trees, water should be available for them.
Ponds will be constructed on the hill.
Tree planting was done on the hill on the birth anniversary of Saint Ravidas.
Jadhav stated that ponds are being constructed on the hill. The large pond is also taking shape under the guidance of Collector Rishav Gupta. Social organizations, school and college students have come forward to support the government and the Forest Department. Jadhav explained that any family can bear the cost of constructing a pond in memory of a loved one, which would be an excellent donation to wildlife and nature.
Information about the Halma tradition
On Saturday, to mark the birth anniversary of Saint Ravidas, Dharmendra Maurya, Harmony Coordinator of Malwa Province, planted saplings with Vedic mantras on Shankargarh Hill. During this, Maurya explained to members of the Green Army about the Halma tradition of the Jhabua region. He explained how significant works are accomplished through voluntary labor in the Halma tradition. This year, we will focus on building as many ponds as possible, not planting trees. This year, we will organize Halma by associating schools and social organizations into separate groups.
