The Deputy Inspector General of Police, RAPTC Indore, has granted permission to the Forest Department, Indore, for afforestation under environmental forestry on vacant plots of approximately 82 hectares of revenue land under the Dattauni Police Firing Range in Indore, under the Madhya Pradesh Government Forest Department. It is proposed that after surveying the site and preparing a treatment map, saplings will be planted in different suitable locations in a manner that enriches the biodiversity of the Malwa region. For this purpose, various gardens will be created to conserve different species of fruit-bearing, shade-giving, medicinal, and other rare and endangered species (RET species). This work is proposed to be carried out with the active cooperation of the police administration, the Forest Department, the general public, and various environmental organizations. By naming the various gardens as Police Memorial Garden, Triveni Garden, Fruit-bearing (mango, jamun, tamarind, guava, lemon, and others) sapling garden, Medicinal Garden, Green Army Garden, Justice Garden, Soldier’s Garden, and Kitchen Garden (Organic) Garden, etc., and by continuously receiving the cooperation of all groups in planting, irrigation, and security, the Dattauni Firing Range can be developed into a unique environmental center.
To implement the above ideas, a workshop is being organized for future tree plantation after a visit and discussion at the Dattauni Firing Range with senior officers of the Forest Department, Indore, concerned officers of the Police Department, and members of the public. Your valuable presence is essential so that the nationwide campaign for environmental protection can be implemented with everyone’s cooperation. For this purpose, on January 18th, a visit was made to the Dattauni Police Firing Range to assess the necessary preparations. The area was surveyed along with the CCF, DFO, and other local environmental enthusiasts. The Indore Green Army unit was also formed as a unit of the Dewas Green Army. In this, entrepreneur and environmentalist Ambarish Kela was elected as the first executive chairman.
