Team Green Army Dewas was awarded by World Book of Records London for the conservation work done on Shankargarh mountain at the Forest Department Divisional Office in Indore. Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission Chairman Rajesh Lal Mehra, former IPS officer Dr. Asha Mathur, World Book of Records London CEO Santosh Shukla and former Principal Chief Forest Conservator of Madhya Pradesh PC Dubey were present as the chief guests on the occasion.

Four years of hard work and dedication behind this honour. About four years ago, Shankargarh hill located on the bypass of Dewas was in a bad condition. A large number of stone crusher machines were engaged in mining here day and night. After this matter went to NGT, illegal mining was banned here after a long legal battle. Samarjit Singh of Green Army and two-three other friends started planting trees here. Gradually people started joining this work. Today more than 400 people are members of Green Army. The district administration and forest department also started supporting them. After continuous plantation of trees on the hill, the hill is covered in greenery today. Wild animals and birds have also started coming here now. Many rare species of plants have been planted here. The team from World Book of Records London saw the videos here and assessed the work done. After this, the Green Army of Dewas was chosen for this honour. The source of inspiration and guide behind this dedication and work of Team Green Army, Chief Forest Conservator of Forest Department, Indore Division PN Mishra, Indore DFO Pradeep Mishra were also present.
