‘A Tree in Mother’s Name’ Campaign: Public Representatives, Officials, Students, and Citizens Participated

Under the ‘Amrit Harit Maha-Abhiyan 2026’ (Nectar Green Mega Campaign), a plantation drive was conducted on Shankargarh Hill on Friday as part of the ‘A Tree in Mother’s Name’ campaign. A total of 10,000 saplings were planted in a single day. Public representatives, administrative officials, social organizations, industrial units, students, and a large number of city residents participated in the drive and pledged to protect the environment. The Municipal Corporation has set a target of planting 1.70 lakh saplings in the city, out of which 75,000 have already been planted.

MLA Gayatri Raje Puar stated that the ‘A Tree in Mother’s Name’ campaign is being conducted across the country, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The objective is to provide a clean climate and a healthy environment for future generations. She emphasized that keeping Shankargarh Hill lush green is a priority.

Collector Rituraj Singh mentioned that the target of planting 10,000 saplings on Shankargarh Hill in one day was successfully achieved through public participation.

The event was attended by District Panchayat President Leela Atariya, Mayor Geeta Agrawal, BJP District President Raisingh Sendhav, Bhairulal Atariya, Superintendent of Police Puneet Gehlod, Additional Collectors Shobharam Solanki and Sanjeev Jain, Municipal Corporation councilors, newly appointed aldermen, and Rizwan Shaikh of Axiom Buildtech, along with officials and employees from various departments, representatives of social organizations, students, and city residents.
